About Sam

I'm a journalist with an interest in sport, politics, economics, and news currently moving into my third year of a multimedia journalism degree at Bournemouth University alongside working my way towards the NCTJ gold standard diploma. I produce regular content for this blog and my football EFL blog, Talk the Football League, as well as hosting/producing The Ultimate Sports Podcast and a student radio show, and various media for semi-professional football club Poole Town. Previously I have worked at two local Newsquest papers and as an intern for one of the world's most-read football sites with millions of reads on my content at 90min. Currently interning with Vavel. In addition, I have produced content for Yahoo Sports, Nerve, Buzz News, and The Tilehurst End.

Background

Originally from Andover, Hampshire from a socio-economically deprived background and the only emmber of my family to go to university. I attended Winton Community Aacdemy and then Queen Mary's College before univeristy. Prior to higher education I had to take a year out to earn money and worked full time at Screwfix. Working since the age of 16 I have been employed by KFC, Screwfix, as a Warehouse operative, in a factory and as a hospitality temp.

Education

At school,I achieved 9 A*-C GCSEs including Maths (A) and English Language (B).

At college, achieved B-C-C in English Language, Law and Economics,and a B in AS politics.

​

Currently studying at Bournemouth University on the multimedia journalism course accredited by the NCTJ, BJTC,and PPA with a 2:1 grading in first and second years.
