The winter transfer window draws to a close later this week with very few headline transfers so far, although that is in fashion of the January window. Plans in the past week have shown the much calls to reform the all seater stadium legislation could change with safe standing well and truly coming to England.
Nakhi Wells has had a strange week in relation to transfer moves having been called back from QPR after the West London club previously stated the striker would be staying. And Leyton Orient unveiled plans of a great gesture for their former manager Justin Edinburg, who sadly passed away last year. All of that is this weeks column.
“Keen to deliver” – Sports Minister, Nigel Adams
All-Seater Reform
The Government has confirmed that it will be acting on its manifesto pledge to reform all-seater legislation. Sports minister Nigel Adams confirmed the Government are “keen to deliver” the pledge with a report being compiled by the Sports Ground Safety Authority.
While it still is early stages with an initial report in October concluding that further research was needed, it is a step in the right direction. Wolves and some Scottish clubs currently have safe standing installed, there have been plenty of crys to roll it out across the UK. Reform is needed and there is no logical reason safe-standing should be banned, its been tried and tested, and works.

Nahki Well’s Roller Coaster Week
Nahki Wells has had a roller coaster week after rumours initially began circulating the on-loan striker would be recalled by parenthood club Burnley from his spell at QPR. However, the West London side then Tweeted to confirm the striker would remain in the capital. Alas a few days later the forward had been recalled, with QPR not reportedly out-priced of a permanent move. Unlucky Rangers.
Leyton Orient’s Class Gesture
Tragically last season Leyton Orient lost their manager Justin Edinburg after he passed away weeks after winning promotion to the Football League. In his honour the O’s have announced they shall be renaming their West Stand after him. What a gesture and rightly so.
